Curiosity Acceptable Use Policy
We're happy you want to use Curiosity and proud of the trust you place in us. In exchange, we trust you to use our services responsibly.
You agree not to misuse the Curiosity services ("Services") or help anyone else to do so. Specifically, you must not even try to do any of the following things in connection with the Services:
Don’t bypass security limits
You may not:
probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network;
breach or otherwise circumvent any security or authentication measures;
attempt to bypass any measures of the Services designed to prevent or restrict access, or any portion of the Services;
access, tamper with, or use non-public areas or parts of the Services, or shared areas of the Services you haven't been invited to.
Don’t misuse or tamper with the software
You may not:
interfere with or disrupt any user, host, or network, for example by sending a virus, overloading, flooding, spamming, or mail-bombing any part of the Services;
decipher, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any of the software components comprising the Services, except as expressly permitted by applicable law;
access, search, or create accounts for the Services by any means other than our publicly supported interfaces (for example, "scraping" or creating accounts in bulk).
Don’t misuse or tamper with information
You may not:
send unsolicited communications, promotions or advertisements, or spam;
send altered, deceptive or false source-identifying information, including "spoofing" or "phishing";
damage, reveal, or alter any user's data, or any other hardware, software, or information relating to another person or entity.
Don’t do anything illegal, hateful, or immoral
You may not:
use the Services in a manner inconsistent with any applicable local, state, national and international laws, rules or regulations
to use the Services to upload, store, transmit or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, contains virusesm violates the intellectual property rights of others, or is otherwise objectionable as determined by us;
publish, share, or store materials that constitute child sexually exploitative material (including material which may not be illegal child sexual abuse material but which nonetheless sexually exploits or promotes the sexual exploitation of minors), unlawful pornography, or are otherwise indecent;
publish, share, or store content that contains or promotes extreme acts of violence or terrorist activity, including terror or violent extremist propaganda;
advocate bigotry, hatred, or the incitement of violence against any person or group of people based on their race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, impairment, or any other characteristic(s) associated with systemic discrimination or marginalization;
harass or abuse Curiosity personnel or representatives or agents performing services on behalf of Curiosity;
violate the privacy or infringe the rights of others, including publishing, sharing, or storing other people’s confidential or identifying information without authorization for the purposes of harassing, exposing, harming, or exploiting them;
engage in any type of payment fraud, including unauthorized use of credit cards or other payment methods, illegitimate chargebacks, or any other method of obtaining the Services without required payment;
impersonate any person or entity, including employees or representatives of Curiosity.
Don’t engage in unauthorized commercial activity
You may not:
promote or advertise our Services without explicit authorization from us;
sell the Services unless specifically authorized to do so, or purchase the Services from an unauthorized seller;
use the Services to back up, or as infrastructure for, your own cloud services, without explicit authorization from us;
remove or alter the logos, trademarks, patent or copyright notices, confidentiality or proprietary notices, or other notices or labels located on or in the Service;
use the Services for any effort to compete with us or for any revenue-generating or commercial purpose without our explicit permission.
Don’t misuse storage in Managed Team Workspaces
You may not:
abuse referrals or promotions to get more storage space than deserved or to sell storage space received from referrals or promotions;
circumvent storage space limits;
use the storage space provided by the Services as the basis for cryptographic proof-of-space or proof-of-storage, or any similar proof system;
Don’t share protected information
You may not:
provide or make available any sensitive information, such as government-issued identification numbers, financial information, except for the payment information necessary for paying the fees associated with the Services;
provide or make available to a Managed or On-Premises Team Workspace any export-controlled or nationally regulated information (e.g. military or government information).
This applies especially to uploading protected informaiton to:
a Managed Team Workspace
an On-Premises Team Workspace
off-device services in the Desktop Application, specifically the “AI Assistant”).
Exceptions to sharing protected information for company applications within the boundaries of the law must be explicitly agreed with us.
Consequences
We reserve the right to take appropriate action in response to violations of this policy, which could include removing or disabling access to content, suspending a user’s access to the Services, or terminating an account.
