Different problems, honestly stated

Curiosity

For industrial and regulated teams whose knowledge sits in engineering systems and structured records, where the answer depends on how those records connect, and where the deployment has to run on their own infrastructure.

Cohere and Aleph Alpha

Cohere’s North is a platform for secure AI agents and assistants that can run on your own infrastructure, air gapped included, for office work such as chat, search and report writing. Aleph Alpha’s PhariaAI operates sovereign AI applications for enterprises and the public sector. The two signed an agreement in September 2026 to combine as Cohere, based in Toronto and Berlin, pending regulatory approval.

How Curiosity compares

Where the boundary falls

Both run where your data must stay, and Curiosity runs Cohere models. The difference is what sits underneath: North and PhariaAI operate the models and assist over your tools, Curiosity models the entities and relationships in your records first.

Built for the industrial estate

General assistants are tuned for cloud collaboration tools. Curiosity connects engineering systems, data lakes, network drives and proprietary sources.

Structured context, not a chat layer

The graph models entities and relationships, so answers reason over how records connect rather than over retrieved passages.

On your infrastructure

On premises or private cloud, with data residency you control and the model of your choice.
