AI / Full Stack

Forward Deployed Engineer

The role

Curiosity Studio connects data from different company systems into one unified graph, with search and AI on top. It gives industrial teams a way to explore their data, build applications and automate complex workflows.

We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with our customers and turn their needs into working software. You’ll understand their processes, explore their data, design solutions and build AI applications that run in production and that people actually use.

The role combines software engineering, data modeling and AI. You’ll work across the stack, from integrating enterprise data and modeling relationships in a graph to building APIs, user interfaces and AI agents built on large language models (LLMs).

You’ll also work closely with customer teams throughout the project: understanding requirements, demonstrating solutions, gathering feedback and taking ownership of delivery from the first workshop to production.

This is a hands on engineering role. We don’t just advise customers on what they could build; we build it with them.

You’ll work on site with customers in Toulouse, in French and English, alongside the engineers developing Curiosity Studio.

What you’ll do

  • Understand customer problems: Work directly with business and technical teams to understand their workflows, identify opportunities and turn requirements into practical solutions.
  • Model data as a graph: Understand entities, relationships, identifiers and data models, and use graph concepts to connect information from different enterprise systems.
  • Build data integrations: Develop connectors, ingest data from APIs and databases, investigate data quality issues and transform raw data into something useful.
  • Develop full stack applications: Build backend services, APIs and user interfaces using C#/.NET and modern web technologies.
  • Build production AI applications: Use LLMs to build features such as intelligent search, information extraction, question answering and workflow automation, and run them in production for real users.
  • Develop AI agents: Build tools and agentic workflows that can interact with enterprise data and APIs, execute tasks and help users complete complex processes.
  • Apply NLP techniques: Work with text, documents and unstructured data to extract information, identify entities, understand relationships and make information searchable.
  • Integrate AI with enterprise data: Connect LLM applications to structured and unstructured data while respecting permissions, security and the needs of the customer.
  • Own technical delivery: Scope work, make implementation decisions, demonstrate progress and take solutions from prototype to production.
  • Improve Curiosity Studio: Contribute to the platform itself when customer projects reveal new requirements, reusable components or opportunities to improve the product.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong software engineering skills: You can design, implement, test and debug maintainable software. You understand APIs, software architecture, version control and production quality code.
  • C#/.NET experience: You’re comfortable building backend services with .NET. Experience with ASP.NET Core and API development is particularly valuable.
  • Full stack development: You can work across backend and frontend applications.
  • Understanding of graph concepts: You understand how entities and relationships represent data, and why graph models can be useful for connecting information across systems. Experience with graph databases or graph query languages is a plus.
  • AI engineering experience or a strong foundation: You understand how LLM applications are built and can work with model APIs, prompts, structured outputs and retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
  • Interest in AI agents: You understand, or are eager to learn, how LLMs use tools, interact with external systems and execute multi step workflows.
  • Data and NLP fundamentals: You can work with structured and unstructured data. Familiarity with text processing, entity extraction, embeddings, semantic search or information retrieval is valuable.
  • Practical problem solving: You can investigate unfamiliar systems, inspect raw data, debug unexpected behavior and find solutions without waiting for every step to be specified.
  • Customer communication: You’re comfortable working directly with customers, explaining technical decisions and translating business needs into engineering tasks.
  • Ownership: You can take responsibility for a feature or project, manage priorities and deliver a working solution.
  • French and English: You’re fluent in both written and spoken French and English.

You don’t need to be an expert in every technology listed. We’re looking for a strong engineer who can build software, understand data and apply AI to real problems. Depth in one or two areas is welcome, provided you’re comfortable learning and working across the stack.

Experience with Curiosity Studio is not required. We’ll teach you the platform and help you understand how to build on it.

What you’ll get

  • A full time permanent contract (CDI).
  • The opportunity to build production AI applications for large industrial and regulated companies.
  • A role that combines software engineering, graph data, NLP and applied AI.
  • Direct collaboration with the engineers building Curiosity Studio.
  • Ownership of projects from the first customer conversation through deployment and production use.
  • Exposure to complex enterprise data and real world AI engineering challenges.
  • Paid leave and health insurance (mutuelle).
  • Support with your visa application in France.

How we hire

  1. Get to know. A 30 minute call to get to know each other.
  2. Technical interview. A conversation about how you build and run software.
  3. Final interview. With the founders.
